AT&T Inc. presented a $500,000 donation Friday to build an education center at the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center in Indianola, Miss.

The museum, which is currently under construction and set to open in the fall of 2008, will include more 20,000 square feet of exhibitions and educational programs designed to promote the legacy of blues legend B.B. King and the Mississippi Delta.

Mayo Flynt, president of AT&T Mississippi, said the company is supporting the museum because it believes in the vision behind it.

"This museum will honor the life and work of B.B. King, celebrate and preserve the Mississippi Delta blues, affect the lives of young people, attract visitors to Mississippi and promote a better quality of life for all," Mayo said in a statement.

King said he is honored, not only by the support of the state for the project, but from AT&T (NYSE: T) as well.
