Programs

Educational and cultural programming along with character development training are all presented through mentoring programs, interactive exhibits and demonstrations that include:

Teacher (K-12) workshops and training for the development of curriculum and lesson plans. Lessons are designed to instill pride in local cultural heritage through the history of the blues.

Music appreciation for students and music lovers of all ages.  Blues has served as the catalyst for the emergence of other American music forms such as jazz, rock & roll, rhythm & blues, and hip-hop. Educational programs will explore all of these music forms through interactive and hands-on programs.

Programs in technical proficiency, creative development and business skills designed for the aspiring and professional musician.

Workshops that promote literacy through the history of Delta writers and southern literature.

Ongoing collection and preservation of the Delta’s music heritage through an oral history program that records the personal stories of numerous Delta bluesmen.
