The Fannie Lou Hamer Empowerment Project

Fannie Lou Hamer is a well known fighter in the American Civil Rights Movement. In 1962, she fought for the right to vote and was the founding member of the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party.

The Fannie Lou Hamer Empowerment Project offers young girls an opportunity to develop and nurture their inner strength, self-esteem, creativity and greatness through etiquette workshops including:

Leadership, Presence & Public Speaking – manners, eye contact, voice & diction
Women’s Studies – creative writing, research, the art of the interview
Health & Wellness – diet & nutrition, healthy meal preparation
Visual & Performing Arts – painting, jewelry making, improvisation, photography
Dance & Movement – ballroom, yoga, pilates
Fashion & Personal Style – skin care, beauty tips, the art of dressing
Posture & Grace – runway techniques, choreography
Fine Dining Skills – formal dining place setting, table manners, being a gracious host
