Brown Bag Luncheon with Tricia Walker

(Indianola, MS April 20, 2009) – The B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center is hosting the 2nd brown bag lunch event on Friday, April 24th at noon with Tricia Walker, singer, songwriter and director of the Delta Music Institute at Delta State University.

Tricia Walker, born and raised in Mississippi, writes songs steeped in the passion, pain and grace of the American South. During her twenty-six years in Nashville, her songs were recorded by a number of artists, including Faith Hill, Patty Loveless and Alison Krauss, whose performance of Tricia's “Looking in the Eyes of Love” earned a Grammy. Tricia's own CD, The Heart of Dixie, thoughtfully captures the songwriter's view of the South with well-placed lyrics and music reflecting her folk, R & B and storytelling influences.

Tricia's vocal and instrumental skills earned her a spot backing artists as diverse as Grand Ole Opry legend Connie Smith to pop superstar Shania Twain. Along with fellow songwriters Pam Tillis, Karen Staley and Ashley Cleveland, Tricia was a founding member of "Women in the Round," one of the most celebrated foursomes at Nashville's prestigious Bluebird Café.
