The B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center will exhibit artwork from students around Sunflower County. The first exhibition will open March 16 and be on display in the Gin area at the Museum through April 10. This show will feature pieces by kindergarten through second grade students from Lockard Elementary, Indianola Academy and North Sunflower Academy. A reception will be held March 22 at 5:30 p.m. for students and their families to discuss their artwork and enjoy refreshments. The public is invited to attend as well. School teachers and art enthusiasts in the area have joined with the Museum to form a committee to discuss ways in which they might embrace and support students’ creative endeavors. In addition to visual art shows, students will have opportunities to perform song, dance and theater. The committee plans to showcase student exhibits each month featuring different grades from all schools. Gentry High, Carver Elementary, Indianola Academy and North Sunflower Academy are all on deck in the coming months! We welcome submissions from all Delta schools.
