The B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center will add an exciting new class to its repertoire – Songwriting & Electric Blues Guitar with David Burchfield on Tuesdays, beginning June 2. Classes are one hour in length and will cover a range of techniques, as well as, writing song lyrics.
Electric Blues Guitar will be offered from 4:00pm – 5:00pm for students 18 years and under and again from 5:30pm – 6:30pm for adults. Cost for the electric series is $180 and space is limited to ten students. It is requested students bring their own guitar, amplifiers will be provided.
The Museum will continue to offer Acoustic Blues Guitar classes on Wednesday nights with Indianola native and accomplished Delta blues artist Jerry Fair. The six-week introductory guitar workshop will fall on Wednesdays at 5:30pm beginning June 3. An intermediate workshop will follow at 6:30pm for continuing students. Cost for each acoustic series is $60 and space is limited to fifteen students. It is requested, though not required, that students bring their own instrument to class.

Students are encouraged to showcase their skills on Saturday afternoons during our Open Mic program at Lucille’s, The Museum Gift Shop. Open Mic is free and begins at 4:00pm every Saturday.
