The B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center is featured on the cover of the 2009 AT&T Real Yellow Pages directory. Located in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, the B. B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center opened in mid-September 2008 to honor the life and music of one of the most accomplished musicians of our time.
More than 118,927 copies of the directory have been produced for distribution in the greater Mid-Delta area this year. Delivery of the directories begins on September 17, and runs through October 8. The directory will also be available to new residents and businesses throughout the year.
“We are proud to feature the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center on the cover of our new AT&T Real Yellow Pages directories for the Mid-Delta area,” said Lori Cheramie area marketing manager, AT&T Advertising Solutions. “We continually work to make our directory covers special on the outside, and tailor the community information inside our directories to best meet the needs of local residents and businesses.”
The museum’s exhibits and educational programs serve to build bridges between the community and the world, and the life of B.B. King provides the backdrop for the museum to share the rich cultural heritage of the Mississippi Delta. Through an authentic presentation of music, art, artifacts and video, along with educational programming, the museum honors its namesake as an internationally renowned and influential musician and a person who has risen from humble beginnings to have an enormous positive impact throughout the world.
“We’re delighted the B.B. King Museum and Delta Interpretive Center will be featured on the new directory cover, because it helps promote the development and growth of the Mid-Delta area,” said Connie Gibbons, executive director of the museum. “We are extremely proud of our Delta heritage, and B.B. King is a tremendous ambassador for this region. Being featured on the cover of the AT&T Real Yellow Pages celebrates our Delta blues music heritage and the local culture, encourages and inspires young artists and musicians, and helps spread the word about this fine museum.”
As new books are delivered, Indianola-area businesses and residents are encouraged to recycle their outdated directories. AT&T Real Yellow Pages directories are recyclable, and the paper used to print the directories contains recycled materials. Residents and businesses can call the AT&T Real Yellow Pages Project ReDirectory help line, listed on the directory cover, at 800-953-4400 for directory recycling information in this community.
